For some reason I had the strange illusion that my life would get calmer once the holidays are over. Three months after they ended my life is busier than ever. I'm now resigned to the fact that I'll be this busy until school is over.
My speed workout Monday night was awesome. It was 6x1200m. It was a tough workout, but I exceeded my goal pace in every interval. My goal pace was a 6:04/mi pace and I did at least a 6:02 (though most were sub six). It was great.
Yesterday was awesome. For the first time in months biking buddy April and I were able to get together for a ride! It was so much fun! Even though I've done a few rides on my own and have been spinning on the trainer it's not the same. Riding with April is the best and I've missed her! Hopefully the weather will hold out and we'll be able to go again tomorrow!
As you may (or may not) remember I'm a part of an all girls ultra team for the Northwest Passage Ragnar Relay. I've been getting nervous about the lengths of my legs (not my actual legs, my relay legs). My first leg was 18 miles, and then my other legs were 10 and 8 respectively for a total of 36 miles.
Well, this week they made a change to my legs and now I'm doing 18, 15 and 8 for an insane total of 41 miles! For someone who doesn't feel distance running (I know, I'm better than I think) is my strength that's a heck of a lot of miles.
All I can hope is that there is another course change between now and then.
I really hope.
Many of you may remember the Aspaeris Pivot Shorts. I did a review on them awhile ago. I wear them frequently and love them more all the time. They are currently having a 50% off sale! That makes them a phenomminal price for compression shorts, and I absolutely adore running in compression shorts! Use code APS4me during checkout! Once you go compression you'll never go back! Feel free to tell them I sent ya!

I love my Aspaeris shorts too! I have the black and navy.
ReplyDeleteI voted for you! And I'll keep voting for you too!
ReplyDeleteDid I offend you? (I'm being serious here).
ReplyDelete41 miles IS insane. You'll just have to e-mail Fast Cory a lot... and remember that you just need to go slow to survive. I guess if I only ran 9:00 miles or slower than I could probably do it... but is running that slow fun? ;)
I'm stoked on the Aspaeris shorts!
Thank you for the leg clarification. I'm sure that was for me, even though I did get it. Haha
