Appointments, gear and pull ups

I went to the chiropractor this morning to fix me up for tomorrow's run.  I'm all straightened out, and my IT band (and subsequently my knee and ankle) are already feeling a ton better.  It makes such a difference when I take care of my legs the way I should!  Having regular chiropractic and massage appointments have helped me to stay healthy!  I can't believe how many years I ran without doing these things.  They make such a difference.

Today I got a package in the mail with lots of fun new stuff:

New gore-tex trail running shoes, replacements for one of my pairs of racing flats and a sweet new running t.  I'm super excited to use my new gear!  I love new running stuff!

One of the things I'm excited about is now that I've gotten replacements for my old worn out ST-5 flats I get to retire the old pair.  I've over used them by almost 100 miles, but I just love them so much I couldn't stop wearing them.  And now they become bonus shoes, awesome looking shoes that I can wear all the time.  I'm super excited to have a bright pair to wear daily.

Best part, I only ordered this stuff on Wednesday, and just used the regular shipping!  And two days later they're here!  Of course, only living a few miles south of the warehouse really helps, but still.  Way to ship it out quickly Brooks!  Love.

I'm totally wearing my new shirt tomorrow!  And I'll need all the extra motivation I can get because running buddy Terra is out of town at a wedding and I'm on my own for my 20 mile run!  Let's see if I can manage it without her there to prevent my inevitable complete mental collapse.

I'll leave you with an awesome video (that you probably won't be able to see if you're reading from google reader, you'll have to click through to my actual blog post).  I was making the kids lunch and turned around to see Tyler doing this:

Tyler is 5 (though he'll be six in two weeks)!  How is it he is way better at pull ups than I am!

My kids rock.

  1. Dude. I can't even do 1 pull up!!!

My run tonight was completely on my own. I was lonely, but it was nice, too. I could go at my own comfortable pace 100% of the time. Hydrate and you will do do awesome! I can't wait to hear!!!
