Well, after a brief assessment of the situation I am yet again bailing on my tempo run this week. My knee is still hurting (going on two weeks now) and I would rather be safe than sorry. I really hate missing training workouts, but I'm getting better at realizing that in the long run one or two missed runs is not nearly as bad as ignoring an injury and missing months of training.
In lieu of a running workout, I'm going to eat chocolate peanut butter ice cream while watching The Biggest Loser Finale and secretly be disappointed in both myself for not running and the entire season of BL for the petty drama.

On the brighter side, I booked my hotel last night for the Newport Marathon. Next week is our last week of "real" training before the taper starts. That makes it seem crazy close, the race is on June 2nd. I'm getting excited to explore Newport, because it looks like a super awesome place.
Has anyone ever run the Newport Marathon? Any advice out there?
Well, I'll keep this brief. I'm off to join my family in an awesome trip to the hardware store.

Missing a workout or two definitely won't hurt you too much. Your race is so close to mine! Kind of fun :). I actually ended up liking this season of BL more than I thought I would. Go Kim! She's so awesome.

Just wondering what types of things you are doing to help heal your knee. I have had a bit of knee thing going on, I think IT band maybe? And I am not sure what to do...other than rest of course.
