The panic is setting in.

Next week I'm doing the Rock 'n' Roll Seattle half marathon.

At the Rock 'n' Roll races they assign everyone to a corral according to their desired pace.

I set a quite lofty goal for myself for this half.  No, I'm not telling you what it is because then you'll never know if I fail.  But it will be a challenge for me to accomplish.

According to my source, my friend Andy, there are at least 44 corrals.  The elites are in corral 1.

I will be in corral 2.

FREAKING OUT!

I'm hoping to join up with the pace team, which may actually be in corral 3 (they often have more than one in the same pace zone) so if that's the case I'd slip back to hang with them.

I don't know if I can do this!  I feel like I've hardly run between this race and the marathon at the beginning of the month.

I'd better make sure my training is top notch next week!  (Which I realize won't actually make much of a difference fitness wise at this point, but will sure make me feel more confidant.)

After I discovered this last night I felt super slow, lazy, and a little fat since I missed my tempo run this week.  (I'm just an irrational woman sometimes, give me a break.)  So I hopped on the trainer for a quick spin.

After listening to Vaughn talk about the race he did yesterday and than a quick call to my Mom turning into a long conversation I hopped off the bike an hour later feeling great!  (By the way, my new rebuilt bike is so awesome it's even more fun to ride on the trainer with.)

I love spur of the moment workouts that leave you feeling awesome!

Is anyone else running the Rock 'n' Roll Seattle race next weekend?  What corral are you in?  I'd love to have a buddy up there with me!

  1. I'm in corral 3 with a 3:20 listed as my goal. With a new course, I don't know how I will do compared to previous years. I've been in corral 2 all the other years and it's great to get moving right away. Moving back to 3, if you need to meet up with a pacer, won't delay you very much at all. Good luck!
